Geography
We are working on Chapter 16 this week and finishing up our unit on Russia. The test for Chapter 16 will be Friday, January 29. We are also starting a new map unit over Northern Eurasia. I have posted both a blank map and a completed map to help you fill out your map. This is a tough map, but I know you can all do great! The map test will be next week on your block day.
Science
We had a test on Monday and turned in the geo-chemical cycle notebook and are starting a new unit over energy on Tuesday.
English
Still reading Animal Farm. Be sure to keep up with your study guide and vocabulary packet. It will be so much easier if you keep up instead of trying to do it all at the end!

Sorry I haven't posted sooner. The website was down earlier today. But I think I have everything up to date now.
Geography
We are working on Chapter 15 this week. We are studying Russia in geography which coincides very well with our Animal Farm unit in English. The Chapter 15 geography test is this Friday the 22nd. And as always, the handouts are posted in the geography section to the right.
English
We have started to read Animal Farm. This will be a long unit. Everyone will be getting the study guide packet in class on the block day. This won't be due until the end of the unit, but be sure to keep up with it. Remember, per your syllabus, assignments are NOT excepted after the end of the unit. So keep up with your vocabulary packet and study guide! If you keep on top of it, it won't be difficult.
Science
We are finishing up are unit on geo-chemical cycles. The computer test is Friday, the 22nd and the written test will be Monday, the 25th. Your science notebook will also be due Monday. I will post the table of contents for this unit as soon as I get it. Be sure you also complete all of the text book assignments. They include: p. 749 #1-7; p. 756 #1-3, 6, 7; p. 764 #1-5, 8, 9, 11-14; p. 800 #2-5; p. 724 #1-5; p. 730 #1-3; p. 732 #4-7, 10,13.

Geography
We will work on Chapter 14 this week. The test for this chapter will be Friday, January 15. Your study guide is also due on Friday. As always, any handouts will be posted in the geography section to the right. Remember, the map test over Eastern Europe is this Thursday, January 14th.
English
The students should all be able to finish their test over Winter Thunder Monday. We will then start reading Animal Farm. All handouts will be posted in the appropriate section to the right. This book corresponds well with us starting to study Russia in Geography.
Science
We are still working on geochemical cycles in science. We just finished studying the water cycle and now we'll be moving on to the carbon cycle.Be sure to complete the assignment from the book. Page 749 #1-7, page 756 #1-3, 6, 7, and page 764 #1-5, 8, 9, 11-14.

Welcome Back!!

Welcome back!! I hope everyone stayed safe with all of the snow and enjoyed their break. I know I did! Remember, today is the start of a new semester, so follow your new schedule. If you misplaced it or don't remember, be sure to check with one of your teachers.

Geography
We are starting Chapter 13 this week. The test over this chapter will be Friday, January 8th. Be sure to complete the practice quiz posted under geography handouts. It will help you prepare and you can use it for the test. The students were also given a map of Eastern Europe. The map test will either be next Wednesday, January 13th or Thursday, January 14th on the block day that the students have class.
English
This week ee are reading Winter Thunder by Mari Sandoz. The vocabulary packet is due this Friday, January 8th and is posted in the Winder Thunder section off to the right. There is a modified version for Mrs. Drake's students. We will start reading Animal Farm by George Orwell next week.
Science
We are starting a new unit this week. Now we are learning about the different geophysical cycles. This week we have been talking about the water cycle.
