Geography
We are working on Chapter 19 this week. This chapter finishes up the unit over North Africa, Southwest and Central Asia. The test over Chapter 19 will be Friday, February 26th.
English
We are finishing the end of the Animal Farm unit. This week there will be a quiz over Chapters 6-10. We will also get to watch the DVD. You will have time this week to work on your final project and depending on how all of the groups are working, you will probably present your group projects the first part of next week.
Science
Since we just had the test over energy last Friday, this must mean we are starting a new unit in science today. The next unit is over Earth's Energy. You probably have figured it out by now, you need to keep up with all of the work and keep track of all of your papers if you want to be able to do well in science class.

February 15, 2010

Hope you all enjoyed your Friday afternoon off and Valentine's Day! We have another busy week!
Geography
I have attached the Chapter 18 study guide in the geography handout section to the right. This is a big chapter, therefore this is a big study guide. Don't procrastinate and wait until the last minute to work on your study guide. I would also recommend using the time offered in class wisely! Remember your "Our Land" projects are due Monday. The geography test will be Friday, February 19th.
English
We are nearing the end of Animal Farm. We should be able to finish reading the book this week. Ms. Sear will be assigning group and assigning a final project for Animal Farm. This project looks like a lot of fun-A Lot more fun than a big test! The vocabulary packet for Animal Farm is due Friday, February 19th and the study guide packet is due Monday, February 22nd. There will also be a quiz over chapters 6-10 on Monday the 22nd.
Science
We are finishing our unit over Energy and you should all know by now what that means! You'll get the review sheet Monday and the science test will be on Friday February 19th! Make sure you have ALL of your science papers completed and together to be turned in the day of the test.

February 11, 2010

Sorry I haven't actually posted anything this week. Got busy and the week got away from me. But all of the handouts are up to date and are posted to the right in the appropriate category.

The Chapter 18 test in Geography will be next week. You'll get you study guides then. Make sure you are keeping up in science, test is coming soon! (I wouldn't be surprised if it's next week) Just so you know, I never post the labs on the blog. Those need to be made up in class. If you missed a lab, make arrangements with Mr. Hess to make it up. And keep reading Animal Farm in English. Don't fall behind on your vocabulary and study guide. The end of that unit is coming soon too! If you are keeping up, you will be sitting pretty when all of this work is due.

Science
We are still learning about energy this week. We are starting off the week with a lab. Remember to keep up with the work and keep all of your papers together to turn in at the end of the unit. If you are absent when we work on a lab you must make arrangements with Mr. Hess to make up the lab either before school, after school or during ELT. On Tuesday, Mr. Hess posted a textbook assignment on the board. P. 424 #1-4 practice; p. 426 #1-5; p. 434 #1-3, 6 practice; p. 434 #1-6.
