We are reading Part II of The Odyssey. I have a feeling the study guide will be due very soon. This assignment is worth a lot of points, make sure you are filling it out in class, asking questions when you need help, and are getting the study guide completed. I'll post a study guide due date, when I know when it is.
Enjoy your last full week of the 2009-2010 school year!

May 10, 2010
I think the countdown until the end of school has begun, but don't quit yet. There is still plenty of time to make or break your grades in any of your classes. There is still plenty of work to do in all of your classes.
Geography
You will continue to work on the Travel Brochure project. Since Mr. Livingston received most of his books back, the due date for the Travel Brochure has been extended until Monday, May 17th. This also means NO MORE TESTS IN GEOGRAPHY, for the remainder of this school year!!
Science
We are still working on the "Motion" unit. Keep up with the labs, book questions, and worksheets. All of the book questions that have been assigned are on the board in Mr. Hess' room and in Mrs. Drake's room. The Motion and Speed/Velocity and Acceleration worksheet was collected for a weekly grade. Be sure you get it turned in! The test over Motion will be Wednesday, May 19th and you will turn in your unit notebooks on Tuesday, May 18th. Remember, this is your final major grade for science, make it a good one!

We will continue with The Odyssey this week. Keep up with your study guide.

It is finally May and we are closing in on the last few weeks of school. But don't give up now, there is still plenty of work to keep everyone busy for the next 3 weeks. This is also last chance to keep your grades up or help get them up to where you want them to be.
Geography
We are working on a new map unit over Australia and Oceania. The map test is on block day of this week. Mr. Livingston will also be assigning a research paper/project. Additional instructions and information are to follow.
Science
We are still working on "Motion". Monday you will be working on a graphing activity. Be sure you are working on the book questions from Chapter 10: p. 323 #1-3; p. 324 #1-5; p. 328 #1-3; p. 330 #1-3; p. 336 #1-4; p. 338 #1-23. This is a huge assignment, I wouldn't procrastinate!

We are finished with Romeo & Juliet and now we are moving on to The Odyssey. This is a great, epic adventure. I have already attached the handouts in "The Odyssey" section off to the right. And don't forget your research papers are due Tuesday. No exceptions to the due date! Late papers will not be accepted.

April 27, 2010
Running a little behind in posting this week. Time is just getting away from me and this is a short week. We have a noon dismissal on Thursday and no school on Friday. I will get all handouts posted by the end of today, I promise!
Geography
Chapter 28 this week. The test will be Thursday.
Science
We are finished with the "Waves" unit and now we are moving on to "Motion". This will be the last big unit for the school year. This is a great opportunity to help improve a struggling science grade or maintain that great science grade. Keep up with all the assignments, complete your labs, study for the tests, and turn in a completed unit packet and earn all those points!
English
We are finishing the unit on Romeo & Juliet this week. The Act V quiz is Tuesday and the final is Wednesday. The next book we are reading is The Odyssey. I actually remember reading this in high school. It is not an easy read, but it is a good story! Enjoy! Remember to keep working on your Research Papers. The rough draft needs to be completed and printed for peer editing on Thursday. The final draft will be due next Tuesday, May 4th!

April 19, 2010
Happy Monday. We have another full week. Remember I try and post all handouts in the appropriate section off to the right. If you can't find something you are looking for, check with Mrs. Drake and I will try and help you out. I know we are nearing the end of the school year, but we still have 6 weeks left. You can't quit working or those grades will suffer. This also means that you have 6 weeks to get any low grades up to where you want them to be.
Geography
We are finishing up with the material we started last week. The map test over Southeast Asia is on block day and the Chapter 27 test will be on Friday, April 23rd. Make sure you are prepared for both.
English
There is a quiz over Act III today. If you have your study guides completed and all of your handouts it should be a piece of cake. Make sure you come to class prepared, you can't go back to your lockers to get your study guide. We will have time on block day to work on your research papers. You should be close to finished with them. At this time, the scheduled due date for the research paper is yet to be determined. I will keep you updated and will post the due date as soon as it has been determined!
Science
We are winding down the unit on waves. Both the computer and written tests will be planned for the end of the week. Make sure you have all of your papers together and completed to turn in after you take the computer test on Friday. Friday will also be your final opportunity to turn in and present your "Wave Blocker" to Mr. Hess. This is an 100 point assignment that I wouldn't just ignore.

I think Spring is here! The weather was great this weekend. Time to enjoy the great outdoors-after your homework is done!! Here is what's going on this week for your team classes.
Geography
On Monday, Mr. Livingston handed out a Southeast Asia map. The test will be next week. I'll post the exact date when I know. The map is posted towards the bottom of the geography handout section. Tuesday he will hand out the Chapter 27 study guide. That test will be some time next week. It sounds like you are getting a break from geography tests this week.
English
We are moving on to Act III in Romeo and Juliet. Ms. Sear will hand out the Act III study guide and vocabulary on Monday. Remember your research paper will be due Friday, April 16th. You will get some time in class to work on those during block day. The "Mad Mercutio" worksheet you got on block day will be due Monday, April 19th.
Science
We are still studying waves in science. Make sure you are working on your wave blocker. You will present it on Block Day. This is a very important project that is worth one test grade. So if your a little worried about your current grade in science, what a great opportunity to help improve it. If you have questions, be sure to ask Mr. Hess. Also, remember that if you plan to work with a partner, you have to let Mr. Hess know by today!
